    Overview

Perfect Ten is situated in the prime Bukit Timah area of Singapore’s District 10, a top-tier luxury residential enclave.

Bukit Timah is a traditional luxury residential area, neighboring landed properties, Good Class Bungalows, and high-end private condominiums, all home to distinguished residents of superior status.

Since 1965, this area has been one of Singapore’s first high-rise residential developments. Perfect Ten remains one of the tallest private residential projects on Bukit Timah Road.

This is a brand-new luxury residential development in the heart of the Bukit Timah area. A luxury condominium with a freehold tenure, its location is highly sought-after, close to many prestigious schools and parks.

Perfect Ten is located at a key transportation hub, between Stevens and Newton MRT stations, both of which are major interchanges connecting north, south, east, and west, providing easy access to every corner of Singapore. The world-renowned Orchard Road shopping street is just a five-minute drive away.

From an aerial view at the top, most units enjoy north-south facing views.

The north overlooks reservoirs and tropical forests, the east faces Anglo-Chinese School (Independent) and the Novena commercial area, the city skyline is to the south, including the famous Orchard Road, Goodwood Hill, and Ardmore Park luxury residential areas. To the west, one can see lush greenery, the Singapore Botanic Gardens – a UNESCO World Heritage Site, Nassim Road, and Cluny Hill.

The private clubhouse has a unique facade design with glass walls, gold mesh, and marble walls and floors, creating a magnificent atmosphere both day and night.

Location of Bukit Timah on the map of Singapore
    Bukit Timah, Singapore
Location of Bukit Timah in Singapore
    Bukit Timah, Singapore
Location of Bukit Timah in the Central Region

Bukit Timah, often abbreviated as Bt Timah, is a planning area and residential estate located in the westernmost part of Singapore’s Central Region. Bukit Timah is about 10 kilometers (6.2 miles) from the Central Business District, bordered by the Central Water Catchment to the north, Bukit Panjang to the northwest, Queenstown to the south, Tanglin to the southeast, Clementi to the southwest, Novena to the east, and Bukit Batok to the west.

Due to its prime location, Bukit Timah has one of the highest densities of luxury condominiums and landed properties in the city, with very little public housing.

Origin of the Name Bukit Timah

The first identification of the area was on the 1828 map by Franklin and Jackson, where it was labeled as Bukit Timah. Since the inland of Singapore was not yet fully developed by the British colonial government at the time, the name likely came from the Malays on the island.

In Malay, Bukit Timah means “tin hill.” The original Malay name for the area was Bukit Temak, meaning “hill of temak trees” (a type of Dipterocarpaceae tree), because of the abundance of these trees in the area. It is possible that the British in Singapore misread or misheard it, and it later became Bukit Timah.

    History of Bukit Timah

During the Japanese occupation, the Japanese built the Syonan Jinja shrine in Bukit Timah (Singapore was known as Syonan-to during the occupation), similar to Japan’s Yasukuni Shrine but on a smaller scale. Two war memorials were built at the shrine, one dedicated to the Japanese war dead, and surprisingly, another for the British forces who died defending Singapore. Students, Japanese commanders, and representatives of British prisoners of war would regularly gather there to commemorate the dead during the occupation. The Syonan Jinja was destroyed by the Japanese before their surrender.

    Infrastructure in Bukit Timah

The Bukit Timah area is known for its high land prices.

The Bukit Timah Race Course, a thoroughbred horse racing venue, opened in 1933 and operated until 1999. The land was renovated and is now home to The Grandstand (formerly Turf City), which features several food outlets, childcare facilities, and a Giant supermarket.

The nearby area has many bungalows, a type of housing that is often expensive in land-scarce Singapore, as well as high-rise condominiums. Many expatriates and wealthy Singaporeans live in the area, with its main highlights being the popular restaurants along Sixth Avenue and at Turf City.

The area later expanded to form Upper Bukit Timah (District 21).

    Bukit Timah MRT

There are 6 MRT stations within the planning area, spanning two lines: the Downtown Line (DTL) and the Circle Line (CCL). The second stage of the Downtown Line (DTL) began operation on December 27, 2015, running parallel to Bukit Timah Road. It connects Bukit Panjang in the northwest of Bukit Timah to the downtown area in the south. Both lines have an interchange at Botanic Gardens MRT station.

The 6 MRT stations within the planning area are:

    DT6 King Albert Park

    DT7 Sixth Avenue

    DT8 Tan Kah Kee

    CC20 Farrer Road
