What is an ACRA Business Profile? Your Complete Guide

Starting from June 2, 2017, the Accounting and Corporate Regulatory Authority (ACRA) of Singapore will provide a free copy of the Business Profile to all newly incorporated or registered entities. For existing registered entities, the ACRA Business Profile can be obtained after successfully renewing business registration, filing annual returns, or submitting an annual declaration.

Definition of ACRA Business Profile

An ACRA Business Profile is an electronic report issued by ACRA that contains the business information an entity has filed with ACRA.

In certain situations, businesses are required to submit their Business Profile to relevant agencies, for example:

When opening a corporate bank account in the entity’s name
As a supporting document when applying for specific types of permits or licenses

ACRA provides free Business Profiles primarily to help businesses reduce costs, ease administrative burdens, and encourage timely and regular filings.

How to Obtain a Free Business Profile

Newly incorporated companies or Variable Capital Companies (VCCs) Newly registered sole-proprietorships, partnerships, Limited Liability Partnerships (LLPs), or Limited Partnerships (LPs)	After successful registration or incorporation, the registrant’s email address will receive an email with instructions on how to download the free Business Profile.
When a sole-proprietorship, partnership, or LP renews its business registration	On the day after the business registration is successfully renewed, the applicant’s email address will receive an email with instructions on how to download the free Business Profile.
When a company or VCC files its Annual Returns When an LLP files its Annual Declaration	On the day after the filing, the entity’s email address registered with ACRA will receive an email with instructions on how to download the free Business Profile.

Note:

The free Business Profile is available for download for seven days from the date of issuance, so it is best to download it immediately upon receiving the email.
In some cases, the free Business Profile can also be downloaded via ACRA’s online information retrieval and filing system, BizFile⁺.
