Are you looking for the fastest, cheapest, or most convenient way to remit money?
Is it for personal or business use? Large or small amounts? A long-term need or a one-time transfer?
If you want a relatively fast and convenient remittance method that sends money directly to your bank card, without needing to exchange currency, and can be used with WeChat or Alipay.
If that’s the case, then an online platform is the most suitable option. Let me recommend a few commonly used online remittance platforms:
Remitly
Fast arrival speed: It only takes a few minutes to complete a remittance via your mobile phone, and you can track the transfer status in real-time.
Convenient operation: No need to go to a bank; you can directly remit money from your phone to an Alipay or WeChat account, and it arrives in just a few minutes.
Disadvantage: New users can get their first transfer fee-free, but subsequent transfers require a service fee. Although the fee isn’t high, it’s not very cost-effective for large transfers, but it’s fine for small amounts.
Wise
Convenient and cheap remittance: Transfers are made at the real exchange rate with no hidden fees.
Convenient currency exchange: You can choose to receive 9 major currencies and hold 54 currencies, making it ideal for international business or online shopping from overseas.
Fast transfer speed: Remittances or currency exchanges are completed in minutes, so you don’t have to worry about funds not arriving or wait anxiously.
Very suitable for overseas investors: Whether it’s for investing in overseas property, paying for utilities and property management fees, or collecting rent, you can do it all directly with Wise. In this regard, Wise is the best tool to use.
Singx
Security: Licensed by the Monetary Authority of Singapore (MAS);
Cheap remittance: The rates are more favorable than bank transfers;
Fast speed: Funds also arrive in just a few minutes.
PayPal
This platform is probably the most well-known in China, but I don’t recommend it:
Slow speed—it takes several days for the funds to arrive;
High fees—regardless of the amount, every transfer incurs a $35 service fee.
The exchange rates are not competitive either.
Many of my clients come from abroad to invest in Singapore real estate. Whether it’s the initial costs of buying a property or paying property fees and collecting rent after the purchase, they need to transfer money between accounts in Singapore and their home country. It’s too much trouble to go to the bank for currency exchange every time. These online platforms have very good reviews, so you might want to give them a try.
