Is Singapore a strong nation?
The Singapore government is strong. With such a small piece of land and so many people, if the government weren’t assertive, foreign capital could drive land prices sky-high. In the exhibition hall of the Housing & Development Board, a piece of calligraphy hangs, reading: “Oh, for a great mansion with a thousand, ten thousand rooms, to give shelter to all the poor scholars of the world, that they may rejoice! Unshaken by wind or rain, as stable as a mountain.”
This reflects the Singaporean government’s determination to take on the responsibility of improving the living environment for its people. And they have indeed achieved this. A nation’s strength is determined not by how well the wealthy live, but by whether its people can live and work in peace and contentment. An ordinary Singaporean can find a suitable job after graduating from university, buy a home, get married, and have children on their own income. By working diligently for several decades, they can retire without worrying about their old age. Whether a country is strong is judged not by how well the rich live, but by how well the common people live.

Is Singapore a rich country?
One of the Four Asian Tigers, one of the world’s international financial centers, and the location for the Asian headquarters of many multinational corporations. Despite its small population and land area, it is the only developed country in Southeast Asia and arguably the most developed nation in all of Asia. Its internet and smartphone penetration rates are also among the world’s highest. It is a gathering place for elite talent and the wealthy from all over the world—undoubtedly a rich country.
Is Singapore a desirable country?
A prime example of “small is beautiful.” Housing is affordable for locals, public facilities are excellent, the living environment is beautiful, educational resources are strong, society is fair and just, and the retirement system is well-established. The entire society resembles an ideal state of a small country with a contented populace.
Setting aside climate, is Singapore livable?
(In terms of political, cultural, and other factors)
Safety. Compared to other immigration destinations like Europe, America, Australia, and New Zealand, Singapore’s most outstanding advantage is its safety. Here, you can leave your home without locking the door. You don’t have to worry about children being abducted, elderly people falling with no one to help, or armed robberies. In terms of social stability and personal safety, no other country in the world compares to Singapore.
It is a developed country with comprehensive infrastructure, transparent and fair administrative processes, and a complete legal framework. It is a country where one can “live with dignity.”
